Ukranian-born pianist Valentina Lisitsa has been described by critics as “positively dazzling” and “one of today's most coveted ‘starlets’ in the main international circuit.” Born to a family of non-musicians in Kiev, she began playing piano at the age of three and performed her first solo recital at age four, before attending the Kiev Conservatory. Ms. Lisitsa has performed to rave reviews at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall, Vienna’s Musikverein and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. She continues to crisscross the globe, playing with renowned orchestras and musicians. With her highly individual and fearless approach to every work she performs, she has played before large and enthusiastic audiences throughout the world. She is at ease in a vast repertoire ranging from Bach and Mozart to Shostakovich and Bernstein.
Violinist Maria Bachmann has been the subject of critical accolades worldwide from the very beginning of her career. The New York Times has hailed her as “a violinist of soul and patrician refinement,” and The Boston Globe has praised Ms. Bachmann as being “astonishing in every musical and technical regard.” Among her numerous competition victories are First Prizes at the Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna, the Concert Artists Guild Competition in New York and the Pro Musicis Foundation Award. These distinctions were followed by acclaimed debuts with the St. Louis Symphony under Leonard Slatkin, the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center with Robert Spano and with Marin Alsop conducting the Pacific Symphony in Los Angeles. |
